Movie #35- Serendipity

Jonathan and Sara meet in a department store at christmas while trying to find a present for their partners, they end up spending the rest of the night together, talking, connecting and falling in love with each other. However they are both in relationships, which is where Sara's belief in fate comes in. Sara asks Jonathan to write his name and phone number on a $5 bill, while she writes her name and number on the inside cover of a book. If they are meant to be together, he will find the book and she will find the $5 bill, and they will find their way back to each other. Several years go by both in serious relationships and Jonathan preparing to get married but before he can he wants to try and find Sara one last time, at the same time Sara ends up in New York again ( after moving to San Francisco)looking for Jonathan. What a beautiful movie! John Cusak is great and Kate Beckinsale is charming as always. Considering they hardly have any scenes together in this, they have great chemistry and the film captures fate wonderfully. Classic Rom-Com.

Movie #34- Hall Pass

Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) are best friends as are their wives, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace (Christina Applegate). They are both unhappy with their married lives and missing the old days when they were single. Realizing this, their wives talk to their friend Dr. Lucy and decide to give them a "Hall Pass": A week off from marriage during which they can have sex with other women. They are skeptical at first, but ultimately accept the offers and try to pick up women with their friends Gary, Flats and Hog Head. Maggie and Grace spend Rick's and Fred's "Hall Pass Week" at Maggie's parents' house in Cape Cod, where Grace flirts with athlete Gerry. She says that if their husbands have Hall Passes, so should they. This isn't the greatest of films, it's a bit slow and just a tad stupid. I don't really have much to say on this film, I think I laughed maybe once. I'll give it 1.5 stars out of 5.

Movie #33- Hot Tub Time Machine

Hot tub time machine is one of those really stupid films with a stupid script but actually provides a few laughs. The title says it all, four guys go away for a weekend after one of them is suspected of trying to kill himself, they then get into a hot tub together and get really drunk, the hot tub just so happens to be a time machine and they end up getting stuck in the 80's trying to find a way back to the present but they're slighly reluctant because in the 80's they're in their teens. It's worth a watch but it won't change your life or maybe it will, who knows.

Movie #32- It's kind of a funny story

This is a FANTASTIC movie about a depressed "suicidal" teen, Craig that ends up getting help at a hospital, meets a girl and makes a new friend in the shape of Zach Galifianakis. While at the hospital Craig discovers his love for art and he learns that life isn't easy and that it isn't supposed to be. The film ends with Craig saying that while his stay didn't cure his condition, it helped him a lot, and he can get through the rest of his life with the help of his family and friends. One of those films you walk away from feeling better and really funny too, It's also quite sad obviously due to the issues that the patients have - depression, self mutilation and isolation. This film isn't perfect, but name me one that is! It runs flat at points but Galifianakis soon changes that with witty remarks and a performance that will make you want to hug the lovable actor, overall a nice teen film with a real heart and funny story.

Movies # 30-31- Night at the museum 1&2

This is one of my favourite sick movies. You know the movies that you can watch over and over again and come in handy when you're sick and need cheering up. The first one of the two is like this for me, it's a really good family movie about a guy who gets a job as the night guard at the natural history museum only to find out that every thing in the museum comes to life at night. Ben Stiller stars in this one and as usual is very funny. The 2nd one isn't as good or funny but I still like it, in this one the Smithsonian- the biggest museum in the world- is coming to life.

Movie #29- The Lost Boys

If you like the cheesiness of the 80's and vampires then The Lost Boys is your kind of movie. I added this to my vampire collection without seeing it and was pleasantly surprised. A new (good looking) guy moves into town thats inhabited by vampires. Watch it and you'll find out the rest. I love 80's movies and this one has a few laughs as well. A great film that should be a part of everyone's collection.
